About the Research & Quality Symposium
A free two-day event featuring research and quality abstracts with the opportunity to celebrate outstanding residents, fellows, program directors, teaching faculty, and coordinators who exemplify the JPS mission and values. The event is hosted by the JPS Health Network's Office of Clinical Research, Quality Division, and Department of Academic Affairs. Thursday evening's event will include a networking event showcasing ten selected abstract presentations, dinner, a keynote speaker, prize giveaways, and the presentation of all Academic Excellence Awards.

Keynote Speaker
Brett P. Giroir, M.D.
Dr. Brett Giroir is a physician-scientist whose career has been dedicated to improving public health. Formerly, he served as the 16th Assistant Secretary for Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Acting FDA Commissioner, and Admiral in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. He also served as the US Representative to the Executive Board of the World Health Organization within the Department of State. Notably, Dr. Giroir was on the front lines of the COVID-19 response as a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force and the national lead for testing and diagnostics (“Testing Czar”).
